Dendrobates truncatus, also known as the yellow striped poison dart frog or sometimes simply as 'truncs' in the poison dart frog hobby, are a relatively uncommon poison dart frog in the United States hobby. Similar to auratus both in habit and care, the yellow striped poison dart frog is very easy to keep, but can be difficult to breed. Dendrobates truncatus is native to Colombia, where it is relatively common. 3 different color forms exist, most likely reflecting different populations, including yellow, green, and blue. Yellow D. truncatus are the most common, while blue truncs are rare, and green truncs are not readily available. Josh's Frogs is proud to offer healthy, captive bred Dendrobates truncatus poison dart frogs for sale.
