Nephrolepis exaltata 'Emina' is a variety of Boston Fern that has curled leaves and twisted fronds. It will reach approximately 12" tall when mature, but could be kept pruned to a smaller size. It is a medium sized plant that is a moderately slow grower and should not reach over 12” at maturity. Being a sterile variety, this fern will not produce true spores but instead spreads through rhizomes coming from the base of the plant. 'Emina' prefers evenly moist soil and bright light.

 Container Gardens/Terrariums/Houseplant:

Nephrolepis exaltata 'Emina' is a very popular as a house plant due to its unique foliage. This plant does great in pots and would look great in a hanging basket. Likewise, it will do fine in any terrariums of moderate size. It will get too large for most small container gardens.

 Vivariums/Animal Terrariums:

Nephrolepis exaltata 'Emina' will do well in a vivarium and due to its size, should be placed towards the back areas. Because it is a hybrid, it is sterile and will not spread new plants all over your terrarium/vivarium due to it not having true spores. It can reproduce by rhizomorphic fronds at the base of the plant and can be easily cut back to keep from spreading. With its unique texture, this fern will add a lot of hiding places in your vivarium for various fauna. Nephrolepis exaltata 'Emina' requires bright light.
