Each bag (8 LBS is 4 bags) of fruit fly media contains 10+ cups of fruit fly media and one packet of bakers yeast. The fruit fly media already contains a mold inhibitor so there is no need for vinegar. It also is full of vitamins, color enhancers for your frogs, and doesn't produce a foul smell like other fruit fly medias! 

We recommend using 1/2 cup of fruit fly media with equal parts water. Instructions are included with each order.

Why is your fruit fly media so much cheaper than other online stores?

A lot of research and trial and error went into making Josh's Frogs Fruit Fly Media.  This hard work led to the best fruit fly media on the market hands down.  This fruit fly media smells better and produces better fruit fly cultures than any other media.  Due to the volume of media we sell (and use) we able to buy the ingredients wholesale.  That means that even if we posted the recipe, we would still be able to sell it for less than the average hobbyist could.  So, if you are using someone else's media, it is time to switch to a less expensive, better fruit fly media.  If you are making your own fruit fly media, your costs are probably more than if you bought our fruit fly media.  Especially if you consider the fact that you will have to make less cultures with our fruit fly media due to the extremely high yields.
