Springtails are tiny arthropods (1-4 mm) and make a great supplimental food for your poison dart frogs. When you seed your tanks with springtails they will reproduce in your terrarium eating mold/fungus. Simply dump the entire culture in your terrarium and mix the substrate in the springtail culture right into your vivarium substrate.

One culture can seed 2-4 terrariums. Cultures are started 1-2 weeks before shipping.

Feed weekly with Josh's Frogs Spring to Life Springtail Food If you are not seeding terrariums, we recommend that you buy a starter culture and use it start a larger culture (we use 5 qt. sterilite containers). Larger cultures produce better and are less prone to CO2 buildup. If you use this culture to start a larger culture to feed froglets or seed multiple tanks, allow the culture to grow for a month before use.

Shipping

After placing an order containing a live animal, you will receive a scheduling email containing our JotForm scheduling link to schedule your new pet's delivery date.

With this scheduling link, you will be able to schedule your order's delivery up to 30 days in advance. You will be able to choose a date of delivery for Tuesday-Saturday (Saturday arrival depends on the carrier's service availability) with the estimated time of arrival generally being 12pm, or 4:30pm for more rural areas. Overnight lows must be above 40°F to ship directly to you (or above 30°F for FedEx Ship Center pickups) as well as below 90°F by estimated time of arrival.

This product is covered under our Live Arrival Guarantee. If your insect/animal does not arrive in good health, we'll make it right, provided the following criteria are met:

If shipped Ground, the temperature experienced during shipping must remain between 0 and 85 °F.
If shipped Next Day, the temperature experienced during shipping must remain between -40 and 120 °F.
If shipped Two Day, the temperature experienced during shipping must remain between -20 and 120 °F.
