Sand is an easy to maintain, all natural product. It conducts heat very well – a characteristic vital to the healthy and well-being of many desert reptiles. Sand is also easy to sift and keep clean. This substrate does not pose a risk of impaction if used with an appropriately sized animal that is well hydrated.
