Waxworms (Galleria mellonella) are the perfect treat for your pet reptile or amphibian. A great source of lipids, waxworms are a fantastic way to fatten up your pet or put some weight on a female after laying eggs or giving birth.

Delicious as they may be, waxworms are like junk food for your reptile or amphibian—feed sparingly.

Josh's Frogs offers waxworms in 25, 50, 250, and 1,000 count cups.

Waxworms are a perfect feeder insect treat for:

  • bearded dragons
  • crested geckos
  • day geckos
  • leopard geckos
  • fat tail geckos
  • tree frogs
  • turtles
  • other small-to-medium sized lizards or turtles

How to Feed:

Feed waxworms as a treat to your pets. Waxworms are very high in fat and make great treats, but should not be used as a staple diet. Sift waxworms from their bedding and feed them to your pet using feeding tongs or a bowl.

How to Store:

When Josh's Frogs ships waxworms, they're already stored on aspen bedding without food—exactly how you want to keep them. Keep waxworms in the fridge to prolong their lifespan.

As waxworms go bad, they will become dark in color and eventually turn black and spoil. Discard any black waxworms.

Under ideal conditions, waxworms should keep for several weeks.
