Peperomia glabella, also called Cypress Peperomia, is a native to the West Indies and a large portion of South America where it can grow in a number of ways, including epiphytically growing up trees or terrestrially creeping on the ground. The darkness of its green, oval-shaped leaves varies depending on the level of light it receives. Likewise, its petioles and stems vary from pink to red depending on lighting. It is a hardy, fast growing vine that will quickly spread to create a nice ground cover of foliage or trail off of a hanging basket. It prefers well drained soil and doesn’t require much lighting. It’s overall considered a very easy plant to care for that can reach 6” high and 12” wide.
USDA Hardiness Zones 10-11
Due to its medium leaf size, this plant is a good candidate for container gardens and makes for a great ground cover filler. It looks great in a hanging basket outdoors in medium sun to partial shade. It is easy to prune to keep under control.
Josh's Frogs offers a wide variety of glass terrariums, container garden soils, drainage layers and other supplies for all of your indoor gardening needs.
This vine will do well in a vivarium’s moist, humid conditions. It will tolerate the high lighting but would prefer a more shaded area, where it will create a nice thick foliage that can be placed in the front areas of the tank or used as a climber on the background.
As good practice, Josh's Frogs recommends washing all plants thoroughly removing as much soil as possible with dechlorinated water before placing them in their final home. Live plants from Josh's Frogs are treated only with products that are OMRI Listed© for use in organic production. Live plants may vary in color, size and appearance.
ALL PLANTS ARE SHIPPED IN POTS WITH SOIL OR OTHER MEDIA UNLESS IT IS DEEMED NECESSARY TO SHIP BARE ROOT
