Philodendron cordatum 'Lemon' (also known as Heart Leaf Philodendron) is a tropical vining plant with bright yellow foliage and is a native of southeastern Brazil. It's low maintenance and a very popular houseplant. Philodendron cordatum in it's natural environment is an epiphyte which means that is will use other structures (such as trees) to grow up. It will also grow over the surface of rocks. This plant prefers part shade and moist soil. Hardy in zones 10-13.

Container Gardens/Terrariums/Houseplant

Philodendron cordatum 'Lemon' is not recommended for use in small terrariums due to the size and quick growth of the plant. Vivariums/Animal Terrariums:

Philodendron cordatum 'Lemon' is a vining plant that will quickly grow up over the background and hardscape towards the light. As such, Philodendron cordatum 'Lemon' should be planted in the back 1/3rd of a naturalistic vivarium and has moderate to heavy water needs. It can grow in moist to saturated substrate. A lower to moderate light plant, Philodendron cordatum 'Lemon' is easily grown in most naturalistic vivaria. Philodendron cordatum 'Lemon' has a vining growth habit, and will quickly climb up the background and hardscape in a naturalistic vivarium. Philodendron cordatum 'Lemon' does not require any air flow, but tolerates air flow well as long as it is kept humid. Philodendron cordatum 'Lemon' makes a great 'filler' plant, quickly growing in a naturalistic vivarium. It's large, broad leaves make great calling perches and egg laying sites for many dart frogs, and roosting sites for tree frogs.

As good practice, Josh's Frogs recommends washing all plants thoroughly removing as much soil as possible with dechlorinated water before placing them in their final home.
