The Josh's Frogs 12x12x8 Warm Weather Shipping Kit provides you with the supplies you need to safely ship reptiles or amphibians in warmer weather conditions. At Josh's Frogs, we've used these supplies to ship frogs in weather up to 85F for years. It includes:

1. 12x12x8 Insulated Shipping Box with 1" Foam

We have these iboxes custom made for us with 1" thick foam for added insulation - that's twice the thickness used by most reptile shipping companies!

2. Four Gel Packs

Gel packs help stabilize the internal temperature of the box during shipping and provide a bit of shock absorption. We use these at the bottom of the box and the top, below the EcoTherm and ice pack.

3. EcoTherm Pack

Josh's Frogs EcoTherm is a remarkable material. It changes states at 76F, which helps to buffer extreme temperatures and keep your critters cozy during shipping. In cold weather, place the EcoTherm pack in warm water until it turns liquid and clear. Place the EcoTherm Pack on top of the uppermost layer of gel packs.

4. Ice Pack

In hot weather, we use an ice pack to keep the EcoTherm Pack charged for a more extended period of time. In shipping, the ice pack will probably thaw out and appear to be a gel pack. Simply pop it in the freezer until it's frozen solid, then place this on top of the EcoTherm Pack when shipping.

5. Shipping Containers

We use a variety of shipping containers at Josh's Frogs, depending on the animals being transported. For young amphibians, we find 4oz containers work great. For older animals, 8oz containers provide a bit of extra space. Packing methods will differ with many different snakes, turtles, lizards, and other animals. Make sure to consult with someone that has experience shipping the type of animal in question before shipping!
