Springtails (Folsomia candidaare tiny arthropods (1-4 mm) and are used as "Tank Janitors" in a terrarium, eating mold and waste. They also make a great supplemental food for your poison dart frogs.

When you add springtails to your tanks they will reproduce. Simply dump the entire springtail culture in your terrarium and mix the charcoal in the springtail culture right into your substrate.

One culture can benefit 2-4 terrariums. Cultures are started 1-2 weeks before shipping.

Feed weekly with Josh's Frogs Spring to Life Springtail Food

If you are not adding to terrariums, we recommend that you buy a starter culture and use it start a larger culture (we use 5 qt. Sterilite containers). Larger cultures produce better and are less prone to CO2 buildup. If you use this smaller culture to start a larger culture to feed froglets or seed multiple tanks, allow the culture to grow for a month before use.

Temperate Springtail Review by Joel

Have ordered two cultures of these guys the first arrived late due to FedEx, but amazing after a few days sitting there live ones started to show up and move around. Definitely a hardy species and plenty of them to get a good master culture started rather quickly in a box. (Posted on 1/23/2019)
Good Review by Alexis

Not as many springtails as I was hoping for, there was only a few moving around in there even after I aired it out, but at least some of them arrived alive. I would order this again from Josh's Frogs. (Posted on 12/12/2018)

Nice, only need to buy once Review by jim

They came alive and well. Nice that you only need to buy it once as long as you keep them fed. Just add some water and dump it into your vivarium then save culture for another tank. (Posted on 8/25/2018)
Good value. Review by kaze
Quality
Nice to have a continuous culture of these little guys. Really glad I purchased them from here for that reason. I can add some to every viv and still have more in the culture to multiple. Totally worth the money. (Posted on 8/6/2018)
frogs love these Review by joseph
Quality
They do their job. Just make sure you give them plenty of cover. A piece of wood had a small piece of mold start on it, and they gobbled it up. The frogs saw these things, and just camped the wood for days eating all they could. Without all the extra ground cover, these things would have become extinct, those frogs have a taste of springtail blood now.... (Posted on 7/31/2018)
